I am left handed and throw clockwise quite comfortably. My question or =
concern is about how the particles are aligned. Could there be problems =
with the direction of throwing if you wedge in a counter clockwise =
direction? Crazy question???? I know, stop wondering and start =
throwing, right? haha =20

You answered your own question. Think about it! If you don't throw
off the hump, you throw small balls of clay, right? The small ball of
clay doesn't care which way you put it on the wheel.

I am also a lefthander who throws clockwise. I may be na=EFve, but if =
your
pots are coming out the way you want them to, with no throwing =
difficulties,
s cracks, dunting or other problems, don't worry about the particles.=20

If it works, don't fix it, and don't sweat the small stuff. And come to
think of it, I wedge in a bullnose in what would be a clockwise =
direction.

Somne people say yes, some say no. I suspect
that the difference might be more evident with
some clay bodies than with others. It may also
have to do with how sensitive you are to the
clay. Perhaps one person won't be bothered,
while another would notice a difference in
handling.

I was taught to put the clay on the wheelhead
such that the spiral of the wedging would
'unwind' during throwing, theoretically reducing
the 'unwind' which can happen during firing. It
sounds like a good theory. There may be something
to it, and if I threw tall, vertically-ornamented
stuff, I might know for sure, but I don't.
