This morning I called David Hendley on the phone while he was unloading his kiln to ask him what he recommended in cfm for exhaust fan in the 10x12 wood shed. Conversing with manufacturers and salesmen only try to get you to buy a Rolls Royce when anything but will do.

Anyways, David was super for letting me bug him. I was fixin' to go to Home Depot so I wanted my mind made up before I got there. The electrician showed up and we headed on over to HD. Picked out a roof type power ventilator as it was SO REASONABLE! Also, a couple of soffitt type vents with screens for less than $1.50 each. Inside the kiln read 85 turned off; room temperature read 95 about high noon before fan was set to 90. We closed the door and there was a real nice breeze circulating the heat up and out. When the door was opened, the motor didn't change noticeably which the electrician said something about a vacuum; static air something or other. There were already two vents up high and they'll help draw more of that hot air out.

I'm throwing today so haven't tested it, but I feel very confident all will be fine. I'll let everyone know in the first "real" bisque firing what happens. I'm not as scared now after all you experts' assistance in this. The clay community is the best.

Now, back to the barn to make the pots to fire in the kiln to take to school to high fire to take to the guild to sit in the shelf to hopefully sell.
