The first thing I do is a google search to see if you can find information
about them.

A Midwest MBN Services shows up on this site, but hard to say if they are
the same one you are talking to.

You should be able to find them in Dunn & Bradstreet. Any legitimate
business that has been around any length of time will be in their database.
I did not find a match for Midwest Merchant Services. But they might be
associated with a bank that has a slightly different name. Ask them for
their DUNS number or how they are listed in Dunn and Bradstreet. Any real
business will have an answer.

Hi Fellow Clay Arters,

I have a question that has just surfaced for me.

I went bankrupt around 1996 and have been unable to take credit cards in my
business.

Recently I was contacted by Midwest Merchant Services, who says they can
provide this service for me. Of course they want all kinds of financial
information and I would not wish to give this out unless to a safe source.

My question is: Have any of you heard of this company? Just trying to
establish their credibility.

Thanks kindly,

I haven't heard of the company but....isn't a bankruptcy taken off your
record after 7 years? Seeng as it's 8 now, you should be able to begin
talking to banks and merchant services about starting over. You're right to
ask - there are a lot of disreputable people out there looking to take
advantage of people who have had financial hardships. Try reliable sources
first - and be up front about your situation. You may be pleasantly
surprised.

The Potter's Council has the most reasonable and low
cost credit card service available. Go the the web
site: www.potterscouncil.org for more info.

Gregg Lindsley, Earth and Fire Pottery, has been using
it and speaks highly about the low cost and low hassle
of it all. At pain of Gregg killing me for putting
his name out there, his email is: gerrg@yahoo.com
