If my memory serves me right (20 or 30 yrs. ago), I saw a set up at TWU =
in Denton TX that employed a vacuum to de-water clay -- designed and =
built by John Miller -- looked a lot like what you are describing -- =
didn't see it in operation - just a quick look and vague description -- =
possibly one of Miller's ex-students could provide more details and =
info on how well it worked
