I'd think dipping the outsides and pouring the insides, would be your best
bet. If you want to work with small batches, say 1-2000 grams, look around
for a variety of containers that are just large enough to dip the pieces
you want to make. Small garbage can lids for plates, 1 gal buckets for
cups, etc. Bowl shaped, square & rectangular containers are also handy.
After you get a good variety, you can do just about any form with a minimum
of glaze. If you dip half of a piece at a time you need less glaze, bowls
and cups can be rolled in a very small quantity of glaze with good results.
Some glazes are much more tolerant of uneven application, if you use the
easier ones the method of application is not so critical.
