Thanks for the quick responses! I had an old address that did not send me
to the new one. The correct address is: digitalfire.com; the one I had was
digitalfire.ab.ca. It does have a wealth of information about glazes. But
the study program, Glaze Teach, is no longer available on line-sorry I was
not a little quicker on the uptake. Again, thanks to the good Clayart
people and their prompt and generous response to my query!

What happened to Digitalfire? Now that I think I might be able to
understand what it has to offer I get nothing when I try to open the pages
leading to the various articles. There was also a course on glazes that I
can't find. Have they just been moved to another site? There are pages on
the web left over from YEARS ago-now something worth hanging on to is gone.
I've been working at understanding glazes-how they work, how they are
made-have read several books and finally feel like I might be ready to move
ahead in my study. Any suggestions?

Morning Gay

As of this am, it was working well. If you've not been to the site for =
awhile there have been changes - good changes - so much additional =
information and links. The ceramic materials database is incredibly =
useful. You may have to register for that, but you should be able to =
get to the articles you want from homepage : go to Education and =
Education 2. (top bar)

Possibly your "bookmark" is out of date so try a "google" and start =
again. Enjoy the journey. MarjB

Hello Gay:

I don't know if this is what you need, but the link to Glazeteach is:
http://www.matrix2000.co.nz/GlazeTeach/Index.htm
which I found very helpful in learning about glazes and go back to it every
so often to refresh my knowledge, as it is harder to retain information
that you learn after 50 :)

Best regards
Mayssan

Glaze Teach is still online. Since Lawrence Ewing is no longer at the
university where he was before, he is now charging for it, which I know we
can all understand!

It is now at
http://www.matrix2000.co.nz/GlazeTeach/Index.htm

and it is $87 NZ, which is $54 US.

Gay,
You may be entering the wrong address. Try this one
http://www.digitalfire.com I highly recommend this program to all potters,
ceramic artist, ect... who wish to increase their glaze knowledge base. It
has an extensive, and expandable Material Definitions Table and the ability
to store all of your glaze recipes to your hard drive, CD, or disk. Great
for looking up theoretical COE's in glazes. If your taking a glaze
calculations class or planning to take one this software will give you a
foot up on the rest of the class.
