"Centered in CT" hosted me in Grand Style at the studio/home of Emine &
Greg Cichowski, a restored house of two centuries' + age. I arrived
early in the week to drop off the pots and tools, and was invited along
with my brother to Sushi in Tolland CT.........and very fine food and
company it was. After a flight in my bother's '58 Cessna to overnight
with the VT cousins near Bennington (home of the Hemmings gas
station/museum/publishinghouse.....eat your heart out car fans), I
returned on Friday to begin work on the things I planned to trim and
finish the first day of the workshop. A fabulous communal feast
featuring Emine's Turkish delicacies was set out on the patio prior to
the Friday night slide show in the showroom. Saturday, I began with
similar work in the wet stage, switching to trimming and finishing the
forms from Friday. Sunday found me finishing the extruded work and
other miscellany while the folks from "Centered" tried out the roller
trimmers and Bison tools on the forms from Saturday. At 2pm we brought
the day and the workshop to a close with a splendid potluck served in
my wares, along with poetry and dessert. Now, I rest and recover for
the workshop in Harrisburg with the Central PA Potters Guild next
Friday and Saturday. Clayart should feel very proud of its members, who
have proven again and again that they are a sturdy yet sensitive group.

Cheers from 'the road',

Hank
