shino worry/mel

No clue which shino to use on Kurt's pot?

Why not use Mel's shino with double the
soda ash.... being careful not to let it set
"too" long or more ash will surface than you
want and the dratted pot turns black! ?

Sometimes I use half again as much soda
ash rather than double..... beautiful! with "just
enough" carbon trapping.

Or I use Mel's shino with NO extra soda ash
IN the glaze, but sponge spots of wetted ash
directly onto the pot.

And, Melvin, if you need any other help with
shino ... and Tony is away ... and Liz is changing
her firing schedule for new shino results.....
and Dannon is creating original work with no
time for such silliness ..... well, just ask me!
I'm sure I have one of your hundreds of responses
to my shino questions in my notes somewhere....
I'll be happy to refer you to the post or the
CM article or your workshop chatter where you
throw out all those gems for nada.

Or ask Kurt....... he knows everything!!!

responded to the centering/not really/not
all the way down post...... I swear I think a
bunch of us must have DNA that shared space
in the same gene pool.......... thank God, we
are scattered about the world..... the ol' globe
would implode for sure if we were in one spot
for a nanosecond........
