My clay distributer (Phoenix in Arcata) told me that the sand was
special order while the grog was standard. I use both in my classroom
without noticing any difference. Both work far superior to straight
B-Mix for cracking and warping.

Laguna has changed their ^5 B-mix with sand to
B-Mix with grog.
I haven't fired it yet but have noticed an out of the bag
color difference (darker). Has anyone fired it and/or noticed
any difference/changes in the claybody?

Greetings All--------The basic formulations for the B-mix bodies remain the
same as they have been produced for going on 20 yrs. Variations in raw color
can be attributed to variations in the organics of the ball clays used.
Organics vary in ball clays, lignites are dark, sulfates/carbonates usually
are lighter. Cone 5 B-mix w/sand is and has always been a special order
clay. ^5 B-mix (wc401) and ^5 B-mix with grog (wc436) are stock bodies.
