THANKS to everyone who sent recipes, advice , etc. Hope I can find time to
test all of the recipes I was given.

BUT this is to the person who sent the recipe for Purple Opal. It sounds
intriguing and I want to give it a whirl.

However, it adds up to 890 without the addition of the Rutile 60 and the
Manganese Dioxide 10.

Should this glaze add up to 1000? Has something been left out accidentally?
Gerstley Borate 140
Spodumene 300
EPK 50
Dolomite 70
Talc 130
Flint 200
Add:
Rutile 60
Manganese Dioxide 10

The rutile is part of the base recipe. Purple Opal was originally published
in an early(?) to mid(?)seventies issue of Ceramics Monthly.
