My piece was rejected by the Orton Cone box Show....and after extensive =
therapy I've come to terms with this... but It's been several months I =
still haven't received my piece back. I phoned Else Balch about a month =
ago and got a rather snippy response that they were busy people and my =
artwork would show up when it shows up. My feeling is that the very day =
you decide to have a show juried by actual artwork, you should put a =
system in place for returning said artwork in a timely fashion. I like =
the idea of the show and its peremeters, but contact with the sponsers =
has been dismaying and I probably wouldn't enter again.

On a happier note, I was in Bucks County, PA last weekend and made a =
pilgrimage to the Moravian Tileworks in Doylestown. What a hoot. the =
place looks like it was decorated by whoever did the sets for "Tales =
>From the Crypt" but the work is fascinating. They have a method for =
backing small tile murals with cement and hardware clothe that I'm going =
to try. The have a few 3 day classes on tilemaking in the late =
winter/early spring. All were filled for this year and the dates were =
not yet set for 2005 but I spoke to the department head and asked that =
they consider a date near the NECECA dates for those traveling from =
afar.

I received a rejection. I waited a long whilefor my work to be returned. Finally called them and was told it would be along soon. I asked if I could have some feedback re the rejection, and was told they LOVED thework, but part of it was missing (there were 4 parts). I was sceptical about that, but my work was returned after a few weeks, with one piece missing. BUT, a few weeks later another box arrived from th

em with the "missing" piece.. No explanation, no apology. I haven't submitted there since.
