loading half-shelves

Some people find that offsetting the height of adjacent half-shelves
improves heat distribution inside electric kilns. I don't know from
experience, though.

Each layer of half-shelves is arranged so that one half-shelf is about an
inch higher than the other half-shelf.

It would be interesting to hear from others if this improves heat
distribution.

Howdy peeps:

So far (around 8 firings--bisque and cone6), all of my firings have been
pretty even with me stacking my half shelves on the same level. Of
course the last hour or so of my firings are almost flat heat rise wise
(say that fast three times).
