hi Donald ,

I don't think the HVLP system realy applies to usung an air brush. The
HVLP system was developed to handle the large over spray problem with
high presure commercial coatings both furniture and otherwise. In those
industrial / commercial aplications the amount of over spray with VOC
solvents was an environmental problem. Over 50 % of the VOC ( volitile
organic compounds) was overspray. and introduced into the atmosphere.
This is/was an issue regarding ozone degredation and toxic solvents
introduced into the air.

It isn't an issue when addressing the spraying of clay and glazes as
these are not generaly toxic or degrading to the atmosphere. Certainly
not an issue for the studio potter. Our sovent is water. No Problemo
to the earth.

HVLP stands for High Volume, Low Pressure (i.e. HVLP). Depending on the nozzle size and thiness of the glaze, you can narrow the spray pattern dowm to a very small sizew(about 1/4 inch) and lower the air pressure to use as a air brush. Not as good as a air bruss but ok for "pots". Sam in daly city

Donald,
May I suggest the Badger model 350 with either the medium or large spray
tip? This model is meant to be used for the higher viscosity materials.
