Hello to all
I am rather new to this board, but am hoping to find
someone kind enough to offer someone new to the
industry-- a bit of help.....
I recently endeavoured upon sculpture....it has only
taken me well.....many years to find my artistic
medium. Sculpture has been my find and I have decided
to open a studio. There is one problem.....I can find
many sources of writtem information to educate myself
further, but I cannot seem to find any book or video
that offers instruction where I struggle the
most....decoration ie...glazing. I seem to be having
the most luck with slips made from the clay body with
which my sculpture is derived but am rather clueless
when it comes to glazing...can anyone offer advice as
to classes that will help or videos or even books?
Thanks to anyone whom can offer advice...
Desperate in Columbus
Tammy

Are you looking to get an overall dip of glaze on your sculptures, perhaps an overall clear or white glassy, semi-matt, or matt sheen?
What scale of pieces are you producing?
At what temperature are you firing and in what atmosphere? (oxidation or reduction)
Or perhaps you would like to add glaze color to the pieces by way of glaze application? Spraying of glazes might be a possibility.
If slips made from the clay body you are using are working, you might consider adding color to your slip and using an overall dip or spray of glaze.

More info needed!
