Logan thank you for your response! I am wondering though, if your stoneware
clay has any grog in it how does that affect your polymer clay burnishing tool?
Does it wear it down any?

Thanks!

Hi Cat!

The BEST burnishing tool I have found for ME is polymer clay. I shape it to suit my needs. ( I have concave , convex, flat) I shape it so I have a handhold, curve the edges up a tad & bake it. When it's cool I sand it just enough to make it as smooth as a baby's bottom with a little 400 wet/dry sand paper in under water. I use porcelain & stoneware clays & it works great on both for me. I've used these for the past 4 or 5 yrs. & the work I do with them gives me exacly what I'm looking for with no ill effects from the oil based clay to date.

Hope this helps

Logan

Hey Cat!

NOPE! Plus they are thick enough so I could burnish probably for about oh say 20 yrs or so & have no noticable wear of tool. I'll send you a pic of what I use! Logan
