I have a jeweler/lapidary friend in Colorado, and he loves his chickens
like nobodies business.

Do you know about www.eggbid.com? My friend has raised some rare chicken,
and now he sells the week old chicks on this site. I had no idea something
like this even existed!!

What a big world it is out there.

hehheh....Our chickens ain't fancy (except for the Silky ones...) but we love 'em like other folks love dogs.
We're about to have 6 more - all 3 of our hens are setting the same nest - they should hatch sometime next week
I think. :)
We have one hen who is (I think) 2 yrs old now, and she was raised by hand in the house until she was old
enough to go outside. She still jumps up on our laps and hides her head under our arm and takes a nap.

Hi Lisa,

PLEASE post a picture of your chicky-baby hiding it's head on your website or send it directly to me if you ever get one! that sounds way too cute! My Rottweiler loves chicken too! When the next door neighbors had one of their chickens "jump the fence" my girl who had never seen one chased it around the yard , got it cornered then slid over to it & laid her head down on it's back like it was one of her stuffed animals. she did nothing to hurt it but she caught it & she was gonna love it no matter what!!!

have a good one!

Logan, you'll hafta wait til after the babies are born; she's only off the
nest once a day and growls if you go near her any other time, UNLESS you
happen to have a hand full of cucumber guts.....;)

Last weekend (before the setting started...) I was pulling weeds in the
flower bed and she jumped up on my lap, then proceeded to burrow under my
shirt. Eventually burrowed her way off my lap around behind me on the
ground, but still under the shirt tail, so she didn't move until I did.

For now, I will send you a picture of what we call the "Blair Chicken
Project", which features my partner in a toboggan with Summer. :)
