OK, Lee, so I should trust Wendell Berry on this one, because he is an
expert, and he wrote a book, so he must know, right? ;0)

Yours,
Kelly in Ohio
(A Wendell Berry fan, in fact)

pondering all the great questions of the clayart universe, like:

If I fry an egg on a sidewalk for which cement has been colored using
oxides, is the concrete food safe?

Why does Lisa's chicken like tobogganing? And doesn't she live down
south anyway?

Can inhaling uncalcined EPK give you Mad Potter's disease? Because that
would explain a lot..

(Off to make a 50/50 blend of peanut butter and jelly..)

Um...tha'd be GINNY in the toboggan. When Summer was a baby, she pecked Ginny right square in the cornea and we
spent a weekend with the eyedoctor. She has been very wary of birds near the face ever since.

Um....is that a line blend, or a triaxial blend?

Experts?. I don't believe anybody said we should avoid
experts. At Ft. Knox, I qualified as Expert with the M16, but only
Sharpshooter with grenades. Always thought it strange to be a grenade
"Sharpshooter."

Technocrat and expert are two different things. Berry
understands language and uses it to help folks understand some old
values that are being thrown out with the washwater.

Here are some of his essays. They don't tell you how to think, but
they sure do make you think;

"Thoughts in the Presence of Fear"

From my examinations, He is one of the few people I'd pull
up stakes and move to study with.
