Keisha, I don't know about Memphis but I am signed up for Frank and
Polly Ann Martin's workshop at Appalachian Center for Crafts in
Smithville, Tennessee (isn't that about four hours from you?) June 7-11.
The whole works (tuition, room and board) is around $500 and the food is
great! The little cabins look like they grew out of the hillside...you
get to room with someone -- maybe a glass blower, a blacksmith, a bead
maker, weaver, woodworker... (I'm rooming with a woodworker this year,
because i am married to him and he insisted ;0) -- bring a cooler (dry
county) and you can sit on the porch until late...

Frank and Polly Ann's workshop has to do with functional ware, and they
suggest we bring a favorite recipe to work with... I am thinking about
redesigning my tofu press.. or making a deep tureen for my venison
chili.. or... or...

Some of my best claybuds I met at ACC in Tennessee...plus some of my
best teachers were there (mel, dannon, david hendley, captain mark,
vince, leah leitson, lana wilson.. )

Anybody else coming?

yours,
kelly in Ohio

Kelly hey

Thanks for replyin to my mail. Yeah I hoped to hide a
workshop closer to Memphis because i'm only 2 hrs
away. I live in the Mississippi Delta and it's right
belove Memphis so I wouldn't have along ways to drive
and I would zip there and back in time for work
because the job I have i dont get summers off and only
3 off us working. so I couldn't stay for long. i'm
working on a job that ends and 5pm and no weekends :D.
that would help out haha. if you ever heard of one
that's in Memphis please let me know ok. Thanks and
blessings....
