North Carolina hand-builder Kathy Triplett is conducting a clay class for
Shakerag Workshops, in Sewanee, TN, entitled "Sconces to Wall Sculpture."
The workshop will be held from June 20-25, 2004, and is open to participants
of all levels of experience. Tuition for the week-long workshop is $375;
room and board is $300.
Triplett in this workshop will demonstrate how to texture and manipulate
slabs to create lighted wall sconces and wall sculptures. Triplett will also
focus on the ways in which she achieves a variety of her surfaces, using
terra-sigillatas, layering and carving of underglazes, and various
sculptural glazes.
Triplett is the author of Handbuilt Ceramics and Handbuilt Tableware. For
