Hi, Vince.
Since you get have first hand knowledge, I am assuming from the first =
book's Title and subsequent summary at Amazon that it concerns the =
practice and history of the Tea Ceremony itself. Does the second delve =
more into the history of Raku, its origin and early practice? =20
BTW . . .you have bragging rights. Children are wonderful gifts.

Amy -
Thanks for confirming my bragging rights, because I depend heavily on them.

Yes, Morgan's second book deals with the medieval orgins and mythology
surrounding the Raku family. There is so much hype and misunderstanding,
and Morgan attemps to debunk much of what is believed. The Raku family was
wholeheartedly behind him, and Morgan is one of the first Westerners to be
given free access to the collections and documents of the Raku family.

The American interpretation of Raku, with the post-firing smoking, is all
wonderful, and is certainly a perfectly valid re-interpretation of Japanese
Raku tradition, but it will be good to clarify the origins and evolution of
Raku in Japan.
Best wishes -
- Vince
