It was my first time at NCECA and I found with a little preparation you can work the balancing act. Take the time to look over the book they give you at registration (or on the web)to plan which presentations and demos are musts for you. Plan time for the art shows, either by bus or car.....and then write in your Clayart activities. Anytime I had a down time between activities, I ran in to check out the suppliers.....or if I was in the hotel side, I stopped in the Clayart room to chat with whatever Claybuds were there. Don't be intimidated because some people have their names on Clayart more often......to my delight, there wasn't a 'crabby' person in the bunch......from Mel and Joyce, David H. and Tony C. down to people who told me they are lurkers and have never written in yet. I urged them to do so, because they will see its painless. You couldn't ask for a better situation....to surround yourself with so many people who all love clay....It was amazing. I can't wait for Baltimore and plan on getting there a day early if possible. Don't want to miss a thing.
