Actually, Susan, that's not true. An S-Corp can have a single
officer/owner. Rules of incorporation are defined by the IRS, not states.
You apply through the state for incorporation, but the Tax ID number and
coporate status are federal issues, not state one.

I would STRONGLY recommend getting advice from a good accoutant or corporate
lawyer. Ask other local craftspeople if they would recommend their
accountant - it's amazing how many people won't. When you find someone who
will, hang onto them tightly.
