A while back - a long while - we had a discussion about what music =
people listen to in their studio. Someone (and I think it was Tony C.) =
mentioned a song I subsequently found on KaZaa and put on a Ck. Well, =
the CD is toast, having been played to death. And the 'puter crashed at =
Christmas time loosing everything. I have searched the archives to no =
avail.
Any ideas? It was a song about the life being like a potters wheel, only =
the pots survive - something to that effect. I'd like to find it again =
but need a title or artist to search for (nothing I used on KaZaa would =
work).
Thanks in advance,

Sometimes we just need to remember what the rules of life
really are... You need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and
shouldn't, use the duct tape.

I'm not sure if this is the one you had in mind, but, it's definitely
the BEST pottery-related song I've heard. ;)

Potter's Wheel

The world is fast becoming younger
The news is all they've ever known
They've seen the wars, the hurt, the hunger
How will they choose when they are grown

What do you tell forever's children
When it's their turn to hurt and heal
Whatever spins a grim tornado
Can also turn the potter's wheel

Take a little clay
Put it on a wheel
Get a little hint
How gods must feel

Give a little turn
Listen to a spin
Make it in the shape
You want it in

Tell with your life the bloody story
Teach to their dreams, not burning steel
It's not in bombs where lies the glory
But in what's shattered on the field

The potter's wheel takes love and caring
Skill and patience fast and slow
The works it makes are easily broken
Once they survive the potter's throw

Take a little clay
Put it on a wheel
Get a little hint
How gods must feel

Give a little turn
Listen to a spin
Make it in the shape
You want it in

Some day some children will be diggin'
In some long-forgotten ground
And they'll find our civilization
Or what's left of it to be found

They'll find the weapons of destruction
But buried deeper in the hole
They'll find a message and a promise
In the sand, the potter's bowl

Take a little clay
Put it on a wheel
Get a little hint
How gods must feel

Give a little turn
Listen to a spin
Make it in the shape
You want it in

Earth and fire and wind conspire
With human hands, and love, and fire

Take a little clay
Put it on a wheel
Get a little hint
How gods must feel

Give a little turn
Listen to a spin
Make it in the shape
You want it in

I think Sue has the right song that you want. The John Denver version is the
only one you will find on Kazaa, but if you (and anyone else who's
interested) email me privately, I will gladly send you the MP3 version I
have of the Freyda and Acoustic AttaTude version. IMO, a much more beautiful
interpretation of this wonderful song!

Found "A Potter's Wheel" on Win MX by Josh Ritter--there's like 22 in queue
to download but it might be the one you wanted. Josh Ritter..hmmm. is he
related to the late Tex and John Ritter?
Could be.....

This is a long shot, I know but... pre-1993, my grandparents went to Renfr=
o
Valley and somewhere along the way they picked up an audio tape of music.
The tape includes a song that is in the TUNE OF "There Is A River"; however=
,
the words are different. Grandma can't find her tape, doesn't know the
artist, and I told her I'd try to figure it out.

If y'all have any idea, PLMK.

Thanks!
