Hello John,
I think your best bet is to see if the Pickering Potters Studio give
classes. I believe it is located in the Pickering Community Centre
which is located on the street east of the Pickering Mall. You also
might consider joining Fusion: The Ontario Clay and Glass
Association, 416-438-8946, <>.
They are having a conference in Toronto May 28-30, featuring two
wonderful potters, Suze Lindsay and Nick Joerling. Another guild to
join in your area is the Durham Potters Guild. I have found in the
past that belonging to a guild is a good way to meet like minded
people and to get involved in clay, especially if you do not have a
studio of your own.
Good luck,
Meticky Liz from Grafton, only one hour east of Oshawa.

Hi all,
For those who live in Ontario, I live in Oshawa and would like to =
e-mail a few questions
to you folks on a special project that I've been thing about.

I'm very new at this pottery craft/art and trying to learn as much as I =
can reading
books and the internet. Can't test anything right now....no kiln at this =
time.

Just a big desire to hand make art from paper clay made from stoneware =
and/or=20
porcelain clay. I least that's my train of thought right now from what =
I've read.

There must be potters and adult classes somewhere close, but can't seem =
to find any.

I've got lots of questions and by the look of the posts on this forum, a =
heck of a lot
to learn.

Thanks for any info,
John
