Ceramics: Cermamist, full-time tenure track position. Qualifications: The
University of North Carolina, Pembroke seeks an individual with demonstrated
ability to teach multiple applications of ceramics at the undergraduate and
graduate level as well as 3-D design. Teaching ability in other art areas
might be helpful. The candidate must have a MFA in Ceramics, a national
exhibition record, and teaching experience at the university level. The
individual must have a thorough knowledge of maintenance of a 3-D area and
be willing to take leadership in the safety and maintenance of the 3-D area.
Active record of professional accomplishments and an on going commitment to
research is required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to provide
leadership in curriculum development, assessment, and long-range planning.
Responsibilities: Teach four courses each semester. There is one course
release time for graduate courses per year. Summer courses are available.
Participation in committee work, departmental and university activities,
supervision of work-study or graduate assistants, advising, assessment, and
etc. is expected. Professional activities, juried exhibits, and community
activities are encouraged and needed for evaluation and tenured processes.
Department Information: The Department of Art includes 6 full-time tenured
or tenure-track faculty, 1 full time temporary, 1 endowed chair, and 5
adjunct faculty members. BA degrees in Fine Arts, Bachelor of Art Education
(K-12) and Graduate Art Education Degrees are offered with a variety of
