I am trying to come up with a kohiki and a hagi glaze and am wondering
if anyone has any ingredient reccomendations for ^10 gas firing. Any
help would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Laura,

I use a recipe for Hagi from Leach's book on Hamada, but it is made
from Japanese materials. It is a silcia saturated white, something like nuka
(uses same materials.)

I do have one in my glaze book that I tested about 11 years ago (it
might be a place to start) Can't remember where it came from, maybe the
Kansas City notebooks ^9/10:

Hagi

Custer 31.5
Flint 28.9
Whiting 19.6
EPK 25.0
Talc 6.5
tit. diox 2.9
bone ash 1.9

Good luck! I think I will test this with Japanese materials in my next
firing. My nuka has been too white.
