Hello Claypals,
I just wanted to say thanks for all the help getting this far. After
being a part-time potter for many years, last spring I started remodeling a
basement space into my own pottery. I kept the dirt floor (thanks Lee
Love), but covered it with linoleum (thanks Jennifer Boyer) to make clean up
easier. We (husband and I) did pour a concrete slab (thanks Lili K.) under
the kiln. I bought most of my stuff from Bailey, and have been very happy
with their customer support. I have been using Mastering Cone 6 Glazes as
my bible (thanks John and Ron), and working with Tucker's porcelain.
Today was the grand opening of the first glaze firing. Of course there
are mixed results, but some pretty nice "keepers." I am particularly happy
with the Raspberry base (no color) over Mason stain engobe -- kind of a nice
clear semi-matte. I'm looking forward to more experiments, and actually
controlling all the steps in this long process.

recovering from a broken ankle which slowed the whole endeavor quite a
bit.

***Congrats Sue!***

Sounds like you've got your ducks in a row and know where to go for tidbits of information that make a studio work for your workings! Welcome to the infinate possiblities of a life time ; ) Hope that ankle is healing and good becomes better.

Peace,
Pamela
