The recent postings on scales for glaze testing got me thinking..
Has anyone used on of these UltaShip scales. It certainly sounds too good
to be true for about $50.00

I would use it for mixing larger quantities of glaze, 5 - 10 gal.

Nick, I bought the "ultraship" 30# scale, with AC adapter for $35
plus shipping on eBay from old will knot or something like that. If
you can get past his fake-folksy, running-on-at-the-mouth ad copy, he
offers a good price and good service.

Here's the URL for the one I bought:

It has been reliable, accurate, and easy to use. The platform is
small (6" x 8")., but one could easily put a larger, flat piece of
plastic (a bucket lid, for instance) on it to increase the stability
of a large container. I have not had to do that for the 5-gallon
batches I've mixed.

I also bought an i2600, 2,600 gram, 0.1 g resolution scale from him
at the same time. It's a beauty. After using Ohaus balance beams
previously, this is a joy to use. Smaller, lighter, and less
fragile, it is very accurate, lightning fast to set a tare value and
record the weight.

I'm very happy with both scales.

Regards,
Maurice
