results of blended weathered bronze recipe

To continue from my prior posts ("Blending Glazes/New Recipe" and
"Blended Recipes Now Firing...").

I was asked if I would post my results and I am laughing as I post this
because all three versions of the blended recipes look EXACTLY like the
original Weathered Bronze Green even though each version varied in the
proportion of each material!

I see that I must continue with line blending, this time adding more of
the second glaze (Matte White) to see how much of it to blend in before
I start seeing a difference and to see if it approximates the look of
layering the two.

This was fun and the fun will continue!

Again, thanks very much to all who contributed information and support.

Regards,

Linda

A number of years ago I used several different white glazes (full strength)
both under and over weathered bronze (on different pots). Depending on the
white glaze I got a wide variety of finished results, ranging from one my
daughter labeled "pond scum green" which some people find irresistibly
appealing and which others say reminds them of goose droppings.

This was definitely fun, and I'd recommend being sure that you have a kiln
washed clay cookie on every pot using these combinations. Some were VERY
fluid.

Remember that mine were not blends; I layered the glazes, both full
strength.

Linda,

>> see that I must continue with line blending, this time adding more of
the second glaze (Matte White) to see how much of it to blend in before
I start seeing a difference and to see if it approximates the look of
layering the two. <<

Um, If that's the desired effect, why not just do that; dip twice, one
over the other?
