melting plastic ? wasre: sieve sizes

Hi Paul,
Doesn't the plastic melt onto the grill leaving blackened globs? What about
using an iron if one doesn't have a griddle? I don't want to wreck the
iron...well maybe;-)
I've made small seives using silk screen material, yogurt pots with their
bottoms cut out and scuba divers glue.

You wouldn't have to use a real griddle. Any flat piece of metal would
work. I've never done this, mind you. But I don't think you leave it on
there any longer than to just soften the plastic enough to push the screen
into it.

That would probably work just as well or better.
