wheels- bailey or axner?

I'm planning on buying a wheel, and I think I've narrowed it down to the
bailey or axner. I've read a lot of good things about both of them on the
archives here, but not being able to actually sit down at the wheel is
making it tough to choose one over the other. Any feedback from owners
(general or specific) would be greatly appreciated.

Couple of questions, too:
I will probably be taking care of any wheel repairs on my own, so I'm
wondering if there is anything about the either the bailey or axner designs
that would make repairs on one more difficult than on the other.

How's the foot pedal action? I've sat down at a couple of different wheels
at a nearby distributor, and the foot pedal on the brents (which is what I'm
accustomed to using) seems to require less force to depress than on the
Pacifica or Shimpo. How do the bailey or axner compare with these other wheels?

I read on one of the earlier clayart postings that the top speed on the
bailey was 200 (though you can internally adjust it). Is this still true?

Is there any reason to purchase the larger motor size models (ST50 vs ST200
or 300 vs 600) for a person like me, who will probably never throw something
as large as 50 pounds.

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Amy,
I bought my Bailey from afar, and I have had no complaints about it at all.
The foot pedal is as smooth and sensitive as one could wish. I can slow
that wheel down to a shade over dead stop and it still glides evverr soo
slowwly and smoothly.
I can't comment on Axner. They weren't born yet when I was shopping.
Good luck,
