Hey Taylor,

All I can suggest is what I did.I made a list of the chemicals
in my basic pallete of glazes. for example, after three glazes
my list looked like this:
SILICA / / /
E.P.K. / /
BALL C /
R.I.O //
(red iron oxide)
COBALT CARB //

Ect. I'm sure you get the picture. Then I used my pottery supply
catalog to see where the price breaks were. It's also a good thing
to know how much room for the storage of chemicals you have.
That could be a deciding factor, 50 # bags just might not fit anywhere.
BEFORE all this takes place you might want /need to figure what
your budget is THEN STICK TO IT .

If I didn't do that I know with the
size of my pottery supply & my enthusiam,
I could have done somesome real nasty damage
to our finances. Then buy as much of everything
as you can. As long as the're properly stored things
like EPK & most chemicals don't "go bad" as far
as I know. I may be wrong, it's been known to happen.
But,, if you're using them fast enough & they HAVE
been properly stored I don't belive it'll be a problem.
Good luck, Have fun shopping!!!!!
from a pottery supply junkie!!! ; ^ D
