Anyone out there have any feedback on the 30 inch bailey electric slab
roller with long table. Is the drive board electric better than the standard
drd??Does the pusher bar switch work well??I'm ordering one soon.mark

Mark,

I've had my electric Bailey slab roller(30 inch) for a couple of years now
and
I use it a lot; most every day.
Once I got everything assembled and adjusted (it seemed to take longer than
I
thought it should; adjusting the chain was the most time consuming chore for
me)
I find that I am quite happy with the entire unit.

The push bar can be somewhat awkward at times. You have to have both
thumbs or two fingers on two trigger points in order to operate the machine.
I understand that it is a safety feature and probably good to have but
awkward
never-the-less. My tendency is to push hard with both thumbs and when they
get tired and sore, I realize that it isn't necessary to push hard - you
just have
to make and keep contact with two points or else the machine shuts off.

My only complaint would be that it is SLOW. When I had my Brent manual
roller, I could whip those slabs out really fast. The electric seems to
grind very
slowly. I'm used to it now but would prefer it to be faster.

Due to space I have only a short table at the feeding end and a long table
at
the other end. Sometimes I wish I had a longer table at the feeding end.
Sigh...life is rarely perfect!. The push bar won't work if your extrusion
is
too thick at the point where you are trying to feed it thru the rollers.

Hope that answers your questions.

I've had the bailey 30" slab roller for over 15 years and have no major
complaints. In case the motor fails which it hasn't , it does come with
a wheel for hand cranking. Do you need a bailey system extruder with 2
barrels---a 4" & 9", dies included. Carolyn
