Of course,
the work would be pretty boring, but I've always said you'll go further with
good slides of bad work than with bad slides of good work! (That part, sad to
say, may be true.)

To someone just starting out with slide shooting, it is significantly easier
to get good slides from non-reflective work than it is with shinier glazes, at
least in daylight shooting. I tried a polarizing filter, and it helps, but it
doesn't seem to produce the same results. I had never used reflective glazes
until this year, and I took my first photos this of them this summer. So, I
am hoping that softer winter light may allieviate the problem. But, glare
coming off a piece does not make for good slides.
