Apropos of nothing, I want to let folks know that the cover article in
December's Ceramics Monthly
is written by my wife, Marilyn. It is an article about Neil Patterson,
who was my first throwing teacher, and the
person who introduced me to woodfiring. The article focuses on how Neil
integrates his teaching and potting
activities.
There's also a great Tony Clennell piece on handles- I don't know what
number of thousands I'm up to, but I know
it's not enough yet.

cheers,
good pots, great firing, and where appropriate Happy Thanksgiving

Dear John: You're lucky it will be weeks before we receive our copy.
thanks for the kind words. the article I wrote in part was inspired by
clayart discussion of the foo fa rah around Cynthia Bringle giving the heave
ho to teapots with store bought cane handles. Cynthia approached hero status
here on the Niagara peninsula for her stand on this. The article in CM in
the commentary section will be followed up by two articles in PMI- one on
the making of cane handles and one on the pulling of clay handles.
looking forward to seeing your wifes writing in December.
Cheers,
Tony
