I wanted to thank Christy Pines for coming all the way down from Connecticut to Georgia to demo that hump string thing !!! Actually, I only picked up parts of the discussion and Mel's diagram- had yet to figure out exactly what the fuss was about. We naturally got to talking about clayart. Well, Christy set it all straight with a improv snip off the old pull string on the blinds of the studio! Voila, the best hump string this side of the Rockies!!

(Actually Christy was here on other business- and came by to see the studio, share pictures of the Raku rodeo and current work, and the way cool mosaic wall on the foundation of her home that is made of smash pieces of less desireables. I told her she needs to post these) We both agreed that the yellow colored clay w/ feathered veenered mugs two of which had tiny s cracks and suffered cracks in the veener that were painstakingly babied and was granted an exhaustively long dry time, Must be SmasheD for the wall!!! ( warning: don't try smashing barehanded after two classes of Chardonnay- I thought I was going to suffer seperation anxiety and spontanity overcame me- Damn thoes S cracks! The smashing felt GOOOOD and now they are to be a small part of Connecticut wall art - bravo!)

Our acquaintence was made at Vince's colored clay workshop and our clay banter was non stop as soon as we met. Clayart is awsome, as we all agree. But, nothing beats good company in the studio!

Have a great weekend! Next time, bring your mud clothes Christy!

Peace,

Pamela
