USA

-- Shirley Cadmus (Pots and Pixels) (Milton, NC, USA)

Attractive raku fired vessels and masks, as well as pit-fired work.=20
Lots of educational material on Shirley's site, appropriately enough for=20
a retired teacher. By the way, I came across Shirley's site through the=20
"Potters' Pets" page=20
in Steven=20
Goldate's Ceramics Today.

-- Ford, Karen (Westport, CT, USA)

Ford is an Asian-American clay artist whose work is functional porcelain=20
with melted glass inlay "thrown in a japanese, contemporary style."=20
Karen will be teaching a workshop to Lakeside Pottery's intermediate /=20
advanced class.

-- Buffalo State College (Design Faculty - Ceramics) (Buffalo, NY, USA)

You will find portfolios by faculty members Robert Wood (Ceramic Design=20
Program Coordinator) and Carol Townsend. Both work in the sculptural=20
realm.

-- The Metropolitan Museum of Art (New York, NY, USA)

(Exhibition: Turning Point: Oribe and the Arts of Sixteenth-Century Japan=
)
(Three of the 6 images are of ceramic pieces.)
Lakeside Pottery (Stamford, CT, USA):
I pass along information a couple of items of particular interest from=20
the latest e-mail newsletter from Lakeside Pottery (Stamford, CT, USA):
.
One is that Lakeside's Roger Baumann will be leading several Ceramic/Art=20
oriented trips trips to Japan in 2004. Anyone interested in learning=20
more may contact Morty Bachar through the web site for Roger's e-mail=20
address and telephone number (as I try not to pass on contact info=20
through Clayart.)
The other is the hands-on porcelain painting workshop that The Alliance=20
Francaise of Greenwich, Connecticut:
, in partnership with "Les Amis de=20
Rigoulene", is organizing in Limoges, France (from May 16 to 24, 2004).=20
Participants will learn the art of painting on porcelain, take guided=20
tours, and more. To introduce the workshop, there will be a free=20
continental breakfast and discussion on Wed. November 5th. from 9:00 to=20
10:30 am. The presentation, (which will be in English), will be at the=20
Arts Center, Greenwich. For further information, contact Isabelle Treton=20
(through the web site.)

England

(Two more practitioners of slip cast ceramic work)

-- Ditchburn, Lorraine (Barnstaple, North Devon, England, UK)

(Ceramicst and Designer - Maker)
(All pieces are slip cast; a number are "one off" pieces.)

-- Hardiman, Wayne (Birmingham, England, UK)

(Slip cast ceramic vessel sculpture)
Hardiman is a senior degree student in Ceramics and Glass at the=20
University of Central England, Birmingham, UK. He previously studied at=20
Stoke on Trent. Although the lighting of the photos isn't great, the=20
pictures show something of what can be done in a non-traditional way=20
with slip cast porcelain sculptural vessels.
(Warning: Since this is a "Free" web site, there will be a few pop-ups=20
to close before you go ahead with the viewing.)

Sweden

-- Viotti, Ulla (Hammenhog, or "Hammenh=F6g", Sweden)

(Monumental landscape scuptures made of brick)
(C/O Steven Goldate's CT "Site of the Week" archive:
.
