to glaze or not to glaze

I don't make that much functional ware focusing mostly on Raku and Naked =
Raku. However, the functional ware I do make, which is mostly ^ 6 =
porcelain chalice and paten sets, have trimmed foot rings on the patens. =
I choose to glaze inside the foot ring as well as inside the stem of my =
chalices. I tried both glazed and unglazed and found that the glazed =
sets looked more finished and professional than the unglazed. I also =
found that my customers preferred the glazed sets. When the glaze =
obscures my signature on the bottom of a piece I sign over the fired =
glaze with permanent metallic marker.

Peace,
