I'm currently at the "throwing insanely light pots" stage. I'm curious as to
how or why you moved on from there and what your work looks like now
compared to then if you would be so kind as to elaborate.

To Bruce the inquisitive,

It was a personal challenge to myself, just to see how far I could push
the clay. The really light ones were spherical vase shapes because you
can thin the walls more pushing outward than fighting gravity pulling a
very thin cylinder. Also, I had a theory that thinner (and even) walls
would take the thermal shock of raku better which is how I was firing
then.

Don't have a web site yet, so can't point you there, but I'll send you a
few shots of my recent work. I still like light pots. Like evenly thrown
pots even better, but moved away from the "eggshell" mentality. One--for
durability, two--didn't want to make such "precious" fragile pots,
three--started to make more functional (i.e.. tableware, urns, etc.).
Don't want people to have to stick out their pinky finger as they take a
sip. ;-)

Put on those anti-gravity boots and spin up some good ones!

Regards,
Brian

ps--is there a way to share images with the group at large. I thought
attachments were a no-no?
