The round kiln was a large Olympic (27"ID) that was converted from electric to electric/gas. VERY easy to do. :)

Thanks Gail for all those great images, and for not including ME in many of 'em. For those of you who are wondering, the images numbered 10, 11, and 12 feature my pet Guinea fowl, Beaker and Jelly. Beaker has the lipstick red beak and wattles; she is a female. They are both 4 months old and hand-raised. It would have been really hard to do the kiln conversion without their help, as I'm sure you can all imagine.

Lisa -

The fact is, I have several pictures with you in them - they were taken
during the sunniest part of the day, and are even more over-exposed than
some that I posted. Try as I may, I couldn't make adequate corrections =
with
Photoshop - they were just too blown out. Maybe it was your sunny
disposition that was messin' with my camera! I bet other people who were
taking pictures have better pictures of you! If they send 'em to me, I =
will
optimize them for web use and add them to the album on Shutterfly.

Sorry!

Lisa,

Sure looks like you ALL had 'WAY too much fun! You have to be more careful, otherwise the Fun Police will be all over you!

I can tell that Beaker is an excellent supervisor. Seems that Jelly (delightful name!) is the Inspector. Good job of checking up on Mayor Mel's work. Don't think he missed any spots with the ITC spray...

Sure would like to have been there. Duty called...

Tig, what are you doing in Washington? Yes, we had a lot of fun; still talking about it. The kiln is loaded (4 layers loosely stacked; maybe 80ish pots total) and we're gonna fire tomorrow or bust! Y'all all pray the rain holds off til Monday.........

I think I will put an image of Beaker and Jelly in the Calendar. They are hand raised, and 4 months old now. I have a collage image of Beaker hatching herself, but we had to hatch Jelly, and he is named after his legs, which were very jelly-like the first 24 hours. ;) THey are spoiled rotten and very noisy when strangers are around, so you can IMAGINE what fun they were last weekend! :) They want to be right wherever we are.
