Jon,
I forgot to answer your question. I posted a reply already. I may have
forgotten to send it to you. The pots that fell in the fire box looked like
anagoma. several were destoyed. The worst problem was things sticking
together and sticking to shelves. Some broke when I tried to get them off.
Ben came to get his sculptures. He seemed pleased. The firing may well have
been the hottest in 15 years. Your pieces look great. The shed is
completely gone. Jeff's pieces had the most incredible glazes, blasted. The
shop vac system is over kill.

How did the firing turn out at Westville Saturday . Did the problem up =
front cause any problems in the back, middle or side?. Did the pots that =
fell in the firebox survive?

I,m glad you posted. I keep meaning to call yoou but At night I get
distracted and forget. yopyu have 5 beautiful pieces. Even the face jug is
beautiful. We were well over cone twelve. I was lucky there wasn't more
damage. Next firing maybe half the salt mixture It was all the way through.
A first. No under firing. Some pots were stuck all the way in the back,
even with the pads. I wish I had more White clay in this firing but I had
run out. The shed burned. No great loss. Your lid stuck. After much coaxing
I got it off in perfect shape, beautiful shino. The school clay all cracked
so I lost 3 large sculptures. two that were made with my clay made it. If
you want to meet me in columbus monday any time let me know.
Thanks,
Stephen

Sorry to hear about the losses. But am glad to hear about the =
success's. Can't wait to see some of the results. Maybe the shop vac =
would work better at a lower speed. Whatever you do don't forget the =
door configuration. It seems to be the ticket .I will try to get down on =
Sunday as planned. If you are not at the village, I'll try you at home. =
Will call if anything changes
