Has anyone in Clayart land had any problems with shifts when using a new bag
of Alberta Slip with response to color and action on the pot? A friend of
mine has been making a reliable fake ash green with copper. He fires from
cone 9 to 10.
This last firing the color turned muddy. My thought was that the Alberta
was mined
where there might be more iron which muddied the color. I have had
experience with Albany Slip changing from mine to mine but did not
have any solutions to offer as I do not use this glaze. Any ideas would be
extremely helpful and
appreciated.

thank you, Regards, bonnie Staffel, Charlevoix, MI

What is the recipe?
The Alberta Slip has been very consistent, it is
a blend of materials.
There is already lots of iron in Alberta Slip so
any appreciable amount in a glaze is going to tend
to muddy other colors. Was there some sort of crystal
developing that created the color? Is that crystal
still developing?
