remember, and it is important to note.

when working on `standard forms` things that
a potter has made in a studio for twenty years.
the same form.
standard pots like plates, mugs, simple bowls.
then you can blaze through them.

one does not need to fiddle and worry
about design. it has been established.

what makes most full time potters crazy
is watching a potter that has made mugs
for twenty years...stare in space, wring the
hands three times, mop water on the pot
for ten minutes...and then say.
`oh, my, this is going to take forever`.
that is when you want to whack them in the
forehead and say...`good god, get on with it.
it is not complex`.

those are precious minutes that can be used
elsewhere in the studio.

there are thousands of tasks...and if you
waste time on one...it robs the others.
that is how one winds up in the studio
at 12.30 a.m. loading kilns.
(and the family is crabby as hell.
where is dad?)
