I always manage to severely underestimate the amount of
time it will take to finish glaze a kiln load of bisque ware.
Yesterday was no exception. With three children 10,7,&4,
I have do go into hyperdrive to accomplish even the simpleist
of tasks. Yesterday I had help....from a very unexpected source.
As some of you may know, my two sons 10&4 have somewhat
special issues. Wyatt is the the most complex of them.
I was still pretty far from completing the load when everyone
got home from shcool. There is homework to do, dinner to make.
Frozen pizza and raw veggie night. I told the kids to be on their
best behavior and went back to work.
Miracles happen when you least expect them.
I had pulled the cooked pizza to cool and cut the veggies and had
gone back out to glaze and load the kiln. Wyatt came out shortly
with an announcement.
"Dinner Is Served Mother. Would you kindly join us?" he exclaimed.
Now you may laugh but this is how Wyatt speaks. He is VERY formal.
I went in the house and lo and behold, the table which had been previously
heaped with paper was now set for dinner for four!!! The utensils had been
wrapped carefully in napkins, there was ice in my water with milk for the
kids. A serving bowl of dip was placed in the center for the vegetables.
And best of all? Their homework was finished!!!

I just wanted to share this with all of you.
Wyatt is autistic.

With love overflowing,
