Hello Hank,

Isn't Macaloid "benificated Bentonite", meaning ultra-refined Bentonite
of some kind?

Hi Glaze Gurus,

Can someone tell me the differences between Veegum-T, Macaloid and
Bentonite? For instance, if you can substitute them for one another,
can you substitute in the same proportion as originally called for in a
glaze recipe?

OK;

Vee Gum T is a macaloid, my preferred additive, at 1/2% to 1%.

Vee Gum Cer is macaloid with CMC thickener, which I do not use because
it spoils because of the CMC.

Bentonite is a montmorillonitic clay which is formed in brackish water
and thus has an extra silicon layer, thus holding more water.
