possible inclusion

Claybuds,

I am in the very very preliminary stages of writing a book on single =
firing as I have other projects in higher priority at the moment. =20

The book will include my firsthand research and experience with single =
firing stonewares and porcelains in gas and wood firing. I also want to =
include other artists and their first hand experience with similar and =
different clay bodies, temperature ranges, firing schedules, kilns, etc. =
I have a beginning list of folks expressing some interest thus far. =20

Anyone interested for possible inclusion please send me an email off =
list so I can continue to build my list of possible artists to be =
included in such a book. This, as I said, is very preliminary. You may =
not hear anything from me in awhile. I want to start researching single =
fire artists and their work in the attempt to represent the full =
spectrum of single firing. I will, unfortunately, not be able to =
include a profiling of everyone, but certainly a directory of all single =
fire artists in the back of the book will be desired. I hope to develop =
further the research of Parks, Tristram, and Hill. This book will also =
include my research on single firing sculpture of a variety of =
thicknesses.

The books objective will be to provide a starting basis for anyone =
interested in the subject. Whatever you are working with, you will be =
able to review works, claybody recipes, glazes and application =
techniques, firing schedules, common glaze & firing faults, etc. as an =
aid in your getting started with this process. Bisquing is really a new =
phenomena in clay history. It is approximately 350 years old.

I want it be the kind of book anyone can pick up and have success and =
incorporate single firing into their regiment if they so wish. It has =
also occurred to me single firing may allow some of the developing =
pottery communities in third world countries to move forward where they =
do not have our economic advantages from the time and money they will =
save single firing their work.

Thank you.
