The one thing I forgot was to tell you to test the glaze on each
claybody you might use - each glaze looks different in a different
claybodies.

So how can we improve this totally "plastic" synthetic glaze?
For this glaze I had paid those beloved $&$?
If you love the result I am happy for you, if you want to improve lets
go on.
The material for these artificial stains are different =96 however the
test you make ( or will make ) teaches about how much stain you glaze
can "suffer" and still be the same glossy glaze.
=20
I am not giving you a list of the 100 materials I have in my studio, I
am a glaze addict it requires a lot of "stuff".
I will offer you from time to time different materials.=20

This book I offer you here: I do it because I am not intending to write
again and again about safety in work. I am not opening it every day,
only every new material!

Back to the session!
Yellow stain, up to 10%

You got a nice yellow.
How to improve it?
Add 3-5% red iron oxide. It will give you a warm yellow.
Make it again, this time do not sieve the glaze just mix it with a power
tool- you might get speckles instead of coloring. See here:

Slide #16-#22

Does the glaze suffers from " Hard Rock" on the bottom of your jar?=20
Here is good reason to formulate your own glaze. Please read Tony's
article about the 20/5 glaze. 20-25% clay in the glaze is an excellent
solution.

There is a solution, I am not so familiar enough with, adding Magnesium
sulfate to the water before adding it to the glaze, I think you can see
it in Vince's book ," Clay A studio Handbook"=20
It will help you as long as you cannot formulate the glazes yourself.=20

Back to the yellow.
When I use oxides for imprinted shapes:=20
Please see here some details:

I add CMC). I do it to avoid "fly oxide" after I smear before I glaze
and during handling &spraying the glaze.=20
One time when I was in a hurry I did not mix well the CMC (Actually
Peptapon), The Young Bedouin woman applied it over herglazed ware and
got this interesting look.

The slide: #24.

If you liked your glaze the way it is fine.
If not some hints:
Try to add some rust, see earlier letters to clayart.
On flat plates try adding broken glasses: require a lot of attention.

for a good directing.
This is a good chance to download and keep Don's list of ^6 glazes.

Add "key powder" =85 Let's leave it for the next session=85
