strictly functional pottery national mailing

updated thu 25 sep 03

Jean Lehman on sat 20 sep 03

This is the last call for anyone who would like to be on the mailing
list to get the prospectus/application for the 12th Annual Strictly
Functional Pottery National! The applications are at the printer, the
mailing list is ready but I can add some more names now if anyone
desires. If you were on the list and have moved, let me check to see
if I have the correct address. Bulk mailings are not forwarded.

For the few people who do not know, the SFPN is open to any resident
of the United States (only to avoid shipping problems, so please
don't take it personally!!) Applications must be mailed by Jan 15.
The exhibition will be April 24 through May 31. It will be juried
this year by Susan Peterson. Up to three pieces may be entered for
the $20 entry fee, just one slide of each piece.

If a piece is accepted, THAT same piece must be the one that is sent
to the show. (Breakage happens, but you would be surprised how often
people call and say "But I sold that piece!" or sometimes they just
send a different piece and hope we don't notice.) The work must be
for sale, and there is a maximum price of $600 per piece.

This exhibition is brought to you by the Market House Craft Center,
which is related to the PA Guild of Craftsmen.

The exhibition from this year (2003) remains online in it's entirety
at the web site below.

We always have some ClayArt people in the show; we also always have
people who have never entered a show before, as well as some very
familiar names in the ceramics field. Since the juror changes every
year, a rejection one year has no bearing on the next year. In fact
at least twice, the person who got "Best of Show" one year was
rejected the next!

If you have questions, I will be happy to try to answer them.
If you want to be on the mailing list, be sure to send your street address!

Best wishes to all,

Jean

Check in on line to see The 11th annual (2003)
Strictly Functional Pottery National exhibition, juried by Wayne Higby.
It will remain on line until next year when the 2004 exhibition goes up.
Next juror is Susan Peterson!
