The first session to these of you buy your glazes:
I will try to join you but because I fire to ^6 about ones a week it
will be hard. The tests can be done in other cones too.
In some cases you will trust me or better=85 test yourself.

Because I am not going to buy glazes I shall use this recipe:
Tony Hansen's 20/5: G1214M Cone 5-7 20x5 Glossy Base Glaze
http://www.digitalfire.ab.ca/cermat/education/114.php

You may read Tony's explanations you may not. If not now, read them
latter.
This glaze is defiantly a good starting point but also the ready for use
powder you buy from your supplier.

In this session I shall explain you how to use better less depend on the
manufacturers with your glaze. At least in most civilized county you can
be sure (by low) that they are not selling you junk in the glaze!
(lead).

So back to the basic purchased glaze. Be sure that it does not contain
zinc and better not barium and lead. The zinc we avoid in order to be
able to try make red out of tin and chrome or using chrome tin stains
(Mason in English)=20
Remember to buy always (for these tests) the same glaze! Changing the
glaze from ANDS3 to ANDS5 will probably yield different colors! Our
starting point is that we are not knowing what is the base but going on
like it is ours!

One thing that I hate is adding artificial colorants into the glaze -
but this is an easy solution.
You can try to add up to 10% to your glaze. Be aware, the artificial
stains are refectories. I would make a line blend. To start it easily
and not wasting too much money:
Take five disposal cups. Sign them as 1-5.
To each cup add 50 grams of your dry glaze, using respirator and gloves.
To cup 1 add 1 grams of stain.=20
To cup two - 2 grams three 3 to the fourth 4 to the fifth 5 which
means you test: 2% 4% 6% 8 and ten. Fire and see the results. In your
favorite cone!
To a different cup add 10% of a tin chrome stain you can take 10 grams
of glaze and 1 of the stain.
Will it be mauve?
To read more about the stains you use:

If you feel mixed up just bookmark the link for future use.

According to my experience these stains =96 the artificial are
refectories. If you try this test in raku, add up to 10% frit 3134 or
3110 and if you are in Israel you can try to add frit 2120.

Yours going to sniff my glazes=85
