etching cream

i know, the answer is TEST.

even still, here's the question...

i want to make a plinth for a gorgeous sculpture a friend made.

the clay sculpture is coated with many layers of wax.. a recurring theme
for me tonight... gives the figure a remarkable skin-like sense.

at any rate (my night for nattering, too)...

i am limited to a very small class studio pallette & commercial glazes.

i'd like something brownish, frostish, mattish. don't have to worry
about misspelling non-existant words.

i have a commercial glaze that's the right color, and transparent.

i though, gosh, if it was frosty, just think!

so, has anyone ever tried putting etching cream over a glazed object?

i've seen people do it to glass, and glaze, after all, is glassy.

i know the answer is test, but before i go out & buy etching cream...
any input.

yet another off-the-wall question from "where in the hell is that storm,
since i closed all the windows" in rochester, ny.
